Does your Keratin Treatment system straighten your hair?
Our best-selling ‘Keratin Treatment' is a smoothing treatment that will reduce the natural volume in the hair, making it easy to manage. However, unlike ‘chemical straighteners, it does not break the bonds, its loosens them. This gives clients the versatility to style their hair in different ways post-treatment service.
How long do the results of your treatment last?
The results last for a minimum of 3 months as long as the suggested aftercare regime is respected.
We recommend the Keratin Revolution Smooth & Moisture Shampoo, Conditioner, Mask, and Argan Oil as the best products to maintain and enhance the results.
To ensure the results last, shampoos which contain SLS/SLES should be avoided.
Factors that affect how long the treatment will last include how often a client washes their hair. Clients who wash their hair 2 times per week can expect the results to last for 4 months.
Is your product vegan?
Our products are 95% vegan. The only ingredient we use that is derived from animals is the Keratin proteins which are derived from sheep's wool.
Does your product contain formaldehyde?
The Keratin Revolution formula is free from formaldehyde and full complaint for all UK and EU regulations.
Do you need to do a skin test prior to treatment?
As you apply the product to a minimum of 1cm from the scalp and should take care to avoid applying to the scalp area or skin during the application, a batch test is not required.
Our treatment has a pH of 2 and therefore could cause sensitive skin irritation.
If the product does come in contact with the skin, we recommend rinsing immediately and if there is any kind of adverse reaction to consult a doctor.
Can you use your product when breastfeeding or on pregnant women?
We suggest consulting a doctor with the INCI list prior to proceeding with the treatment in the case of pregnancy.
Does your treatment affect the client's colour?
The treatment can have the effect of lifting colour in certain circumstances. This is due to the pH of the formula and the heat used during the application procedure.
To minimise the risk of colour lifting, DO NOT use heat during development and turn the hair straightener temperature down to 180 degrees.
Can your treatment be used on bleached blonde hair?
Yes, you can use our treatment on bleached blonde hair with an adjustment to the application procedure to reduce the development time and amount of heat used during the application process. Please refer to our ‘Keratin Specialist Club’ presentation slides for a detailed step-by-step procedure including development times.
Depending on the porosity and extent of damage, we recommend the use of the Keratin Revolution Nutrition and Repair Mask which has been specifically developed for this purpose and can be used prior to the treatment on the day. This process would involve a Clarifying Shampoo (as step one), applying the Nutrition and Repair Mask and developing for 4 minutes, rinsing with water and then proceeding to the Keratin Smoothing Treatment. In the case of highly damaged hair, we would suggest a course of Nutrition and Repair Masks prior to the treatment service.
Does your treatment work on Afro hair?
Our product is effective on Afro hair including 4c texture and we have a number of Afro hair specialists who use our system to great effect. The trend is to convert traditional relaxer clients onto Keratin Revolution treatments as it gives a more natural result and does not cause damage to the hair.
Is the treatment compatible with relaxers?
Yes, our treatment is fully compatible with relaxers and all other chemical procedures. Please note the step-by-step instructions for bleached blonde hair.
The treatment has the ability to regain the keratin proteins that were lost or damaged by the relaxer process.
We advise lowering the temperature to the sections where the relaxer still sits on the hair.
When can a client wash their hair post-treatment?
Our system enables clients to wash their hair on the same day post-treatment. This offers them the ultimate convenience.
Does treatment affect natural colour hair?

The Keratin Revolution Treatment is a professional only treatment and should only be used in salons by professionals.
Will my natural curls be affected after treatment?
It depends on your natural hair texture. Whilst our system is not a straightening system, it will smooth the texture of the hair out, which on finner hair textures will make the hair feel and look straighter.
However, on tight curls, it's not going to eradicate the curl pattern but it can lose it.
